The Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels (COLA) is a Roman Catholic Church in downtown Los Angeles. It opened in September of 2002 replacing the Cathedral of Saint Vibiana which was damaged in the 1994 Northridge earthquake. It is the church to over four million Catholics in the archdiocese. The grounds also include a mausoleum, gift shop, cafeteria, conference center and clergy residences. The cathedral was designed by award winning Spanish architect Rafael Moneo. It is 5.6 acres right off the Hollywood Freeway.
